On June 9, 2023, the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco was the stage for exciting innovation during the Grand Final of the Monaco Ocean Protection Challenge. Rachid Benchaouir, founder of Coraliotech, showed his support for a talented group of students from the International University of Monaco and the École des Mines de Paris, who presented an innovative project at this prestigious event.

The project, FlexiSea, an automated articulated arm for delicate and non-destructive collection of marine samples, captured the attention and admiration of all. Designed to offer unparalleled precision and flexibility, FlexiSea promises to revolutionize the way marine samples are collected, minimizing the impact on precious underwater ecosystems.

The enthusiasm of our director was shared by the jury, which awarded FlexiSea the Special Favorite Prize of the 2023 event. We are proud to congratulate Annelise Prusak, Marguerite Dejean de La Bâtie, Matei Ceausu, Josefine Skaseth, and Vlad Negoita for their hard work and impressive presentation.

Participation in this challenge underscores the ongoing commitment of Coraliotech and the Monaco scientific community to ocean protection and the encouragement of the next generation of marine innovators.
